i bought my new car in 2007 and had a guidepoint system installed, paid $1000 for it. I called and activated it ...and never needed to call them for any reason. I only had the free subscription, where only guidepoint can locate the car. The other day i called to check on my unit to see if they can still see it my car or if I need to have the unit checked..and guess what?? They told me that my acount was de-activated because i did not call them every year to confirm my information as mentiond in "terms and conditions". Furthermore the rep told me that the account went down in 2008 because I did not call them. So, I asked her : is there any way to reactivate my account now, since i called? she said NO, unless I pay $300to subscribe for a new 3 years upgraded service.
I had no luck with the rep over the phone..She would not help me with my problem.
I paid $1000 and the unit served its purpuse for 1 year only.
I used to have LoJack before I got GuidePoint and I regret it so much that tusted that car sales man that sold me GuidPoint. Next time I will get LoJack, they are so much better.
 

Bought it with Toyota Tacoma spent $1200.00 from dealer.if you do not update information every year they will cut your service off,and not inform you about it.I had the basic lifetime as sold to me by the toyota dealer.So I go to update my information and the person I talked to said at&t phone service does not handle that anymore.Then they tried to sell me a new unit and pay for someone to install it as well as trying to extort more money from me.Well if they have a problem with anything like that it should be on them.Do your self a favor and go with something else as they do not stand behind there word.Will never do business with them again.
